Why isn't my SSN (social security number ) on my Bronco Access Card?
In order to protect your privacy, SSN will no longer be used as a Student ID number. A Bronco number is used instead. The Bronco number is a 9-digit, unique identifier assigned by the University and exclusive to the cardholder. The Bronco Number replaces the use of social security number as an ID number; and used for Cal Poly Pomona purposes only. Your Bronco Number is printed on the face your ID card.

How is my personal information protected
Strict privacy rules govern the release of information concerning individual students. In accordance with Public Law 93-380 of the Educational Rights and Privacy Act of 1974 (the "Buckley Amendment"), the University upholds the protection of students' privacy and does not release any information except as permitted by law.
