GENERAL USE POLICY

Authorized Use:  The Bronco Access Card, and all uses of, is governed by the University and remains the property of Cal Poly Pomona. This card is non-transferable.

Replacement Cards:  For information on how to obtain a replacement card, go to the Lost/Stolen Cards page.  Lost or stolen cards must be reported immediately to the Photo ID Unit for deactivation.  Deactivated cards are not valid and cannot be used for any type of transaction.  A $15.00 fee applies to Bronco Access Card replacements for all students.

Students:  Strict privacy rules govern the release of information concerning individual students. Public Law 93-380 of the Educational Rights and Privacy Act of 1974 (the "Buckley Amendment") makes mandatory the protection of students' privacy in regard to the information we have on file about the student.  This law designates certain information as "directory information" which may be given out to any person who requests it, unless the student indicates otherwise by informing the Registrar's Office in writing.  Cal Poly Pomona has determined that this directory information includes only:

  • Verification of enrollment
  • Verification of degree(s) earned
  • Honors or awards earned
  • Weight, height, etc. of athletes
  • Verification of major

Your photograph, and any other personal information not considered "directory information" can be released only to an employee of the University who has a legitimate educational need to know, certain specific government agencies, or to other individuals only if the student signs a written release.

University Employees and Affiliates:  Your photograph is protected by the Information Practices Act and will not be released unless permitted or required by law.

Privacy Restriction:  Your photograph will be used to create your Bronco Access Card. Its uses will be subject to the University Policy for Usage of Computing Resources and Privacy Rules on Confidentiality of Student Information.
