Impacted Programs
The California State University (CSU) designates major programs as impacted when more applications are received in the initial filing period from CSU eligible applicants than can be accommodated by the campus.
The CSU will announce during the fall filing period those programs that are impacted and the supplementary criteria campuses will use. That announcement will be published in the CSU Review, which is distributed to high school and college counselors. Information about the supplementary criteria is also sent to program applicants.
Cal Poly Pomona's impacted majors are Architecture, Animal Health Science, Animal Science, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Undeclared. First-time freshman applications to these programs will be accepted during the fall initial filing period (October 1 - November 30). Transfer applications to Animal Health Science, Animal Science, Civil Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering will also be accepted for the summer, winter, and spring terms during the initial filing periods for these terms as long as the University is accepting applications for a given term.

______________________________________________________________________________________________
In addition to your undergraduate admissions application, you will also need to submit other necessary documents including official transcripts from all institutions attended and standardized test results. Ask that these documents be sent directly to the Office of Admissions and Outreach at Cal Poly Pomona for the term in which you are applying by the requested dates.
At this time, Cal Poly Pomona is experiencing increased demand across all levels, but the increase is most dramatic with entering freshmen. The campus anticipates that the increased freshmen demand will exceed our capacity to offer a quality education to our students. Therefore, be advised that even though you may submit an application to an impacted major and identify an alternate major, we may not be able to accommodate you in that alternate major. Please keep in mind when applying to an impacted major.
