Since the summer of 2003, the Student Development and Leadership Institute (SDLI) has become the umbrella for campus-wide leadership development and resources.  A free service to all Cal Poly Pomona students, over 250 student-leaders have completed the SDLI certification requirements in the first six years of the program.

Mission Statement

The Student Development and Leadership Institute (SDLI) provides education, development and training that enhances students’ personal leadership abilities for lifelong learning and success in a changing, multicultural world.

SDLI Leadership Development Philosophy

SDLI believes that everyone is a leader, whether you are involved in an organization or not. Leadership is a process in which personal abilities can be learned and improved upon. Personal leadership development must be intentional with the forethought of becoming a critical thinker and the ability to serve a broader constituent with a meaningful purpose.
