Notetaking services are provided for qualified DRC students. Each DRC student is allowed one notetaker per class. Notetakers are selected in class, by the DRC student.
Each selected notetaker must meet student assistant eligility requirements: a cumulative GPA of 2.0 or higher, enrollment in 6.1 or more units, and must be eligible to work in the United States. Upon meeting these requirements, each notetaker will be hired as a student assistant and compensated at the rate of $20 per class unit. Payment for services will be processed at the end of each quarter.
DRC Student Responsibilities: 1. The DRC student must pick-up a Notetaker Application and a Notetaking Guidelines and Procedures packet from the DRC office for each class in which a notetaker will be used.
2. The DRC student is responsible for the cost of receiving copies of all notes.
3. During the tenth week of the quarter, the DRC student must sign the Notetaker Certification form, confirming that the notetaker has met their responsiblities and is eligible for compensation.
Notetaker Responsiblites: 1. Notetakers must maintain confidentiality regarding the student's disability at all times.
2. Notetakers must return their signed Notetaker application to the DRC office no later than the date indicated on the application.
3. Upon receipt of the application, DRC and the notetaker will begin the student assistant hiring process, which includes completion of the hiring process by the notetaker in Human Resources.
4. During the tenth week of the quarter, the Notetaker Certification form must be completed in the DRC office by the notetaker.
