Summer 2008 - Frequently Asked Questions

1. What types of financial aid are available for summer? Additional grants, federal work study and loans are available for summer as long as you have not expended the maximum amounts during the fall, winter and spring quarters. 2. How do I apply? If you meet the criteria for summer aid eligibility, you will be sent an email with the summer financial aid request form attached. Complete the form and submit it to our office by April 25, 2008. 3. When will I be notified if I will be receiving financial aid for summer 2008? You will be notified of your award by May 16, 2008 4. Will the amount of financial aid I receive in the summer have any impact on the aid I’ve already received during 2007-08 fall, winter or spring quarters? No, the funds you receive in the summer will be in addition to the amount you received during the regular academic year.

5. Will the amount of financial aid I receive in the summer have any impact on the aid I will receive during the 2008-09 academic year? No, the amount you receive in the summer will not affect any amounts you are to receive during the 2008-09 academic year. 6. Is summer federal work study available? Federal work-study is available during the summer by employer request for continuing federal work study students.  If you are a continuing work study student, please contact your current employer to request consideration for summer employment. 7. Do I have to be enrolled full time during the summer to be considered for additional financial aid? Consideration will first be given to students who are enrolled full time.  If funds are still available, consideration will then be given to those enrolled less than full time.                                           Back to Financial Aid Homepage
