General Scholarship Application Process

This application is used to apply for the Cal Poly Pomona general scholarships administered through the Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships. For eligibility you must meet the following minimum criteria Scholarship Criteria: Open to all grade levels (under graduate and graduate students). Minimum GPA 3.0. Full-time attendance for period of award. Citizen or eligible non-citizen Application Process: Step 1: Submit the Cal Poly Pomona On-Line Scholarship Application: you will be asked to provide information about your Campus Involvement, Community Service, and a 1 page (500 words) Personal Essay. Step 2: Submit Two Letters of Recommendation (mail, hand deliver, or fax them to the Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships), one of which must be from an instructor. The person completing your letter of recommendation should comment on your scholastic achievements, and personal strengths such as enrollment, potential, maturity, motivation, self-confidence, leadership, perseverance, extra curricular activities, and community involvement. The two Scholarship Evaluation Forms should be included with your letters of recommendation. A combined Scholarship Application with Evaluation Forms PDF document is also available as an alternative to the On-Line Application. This PDF application can be filled out On-line and printed for submission.

Incomplete applications WILL NOT be included in the pool for consideration. What’s Next: After you have submitted your completed scholarship packet to the Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships: Your application will be reviewed for completeness. If complete, your application will be forwarded to the appropriate scholarship selection committee. Committees meet and evaluate applications throughout the academic year. If you are chosen as a recipient you will receive a congratulation letter (which will instruct you on how to obtain your scholarship funds).
