The Student Community
Academic Integrity at Cal Poly Pomona Cal Poly Pomona, like all academic communities, stresses honesty and integrity in all academic endeavors. Academic dishonesty is a serious offense that can diminish the quality of scholarship, the academic environment, the academic reputation, and the quality of a Cal Poly Pomona degree. Academic dishonesty is any act which gains or is intended to gain an unfair academic advantage for a student or which circumvents an instructor's course standards.
This may include, but is not limited to, plagiarism (using someone else's work in any academic assignment without citing the sources and indicating quoted material), cheating (such as using unauthorized "crib sheets," permitting another to copy work, or submitting work not completed by the student), or falsifying any university document (including forging signatures on university forms or misrepresenting prerequisite requirements).
More information can be found in the University Catalog or at http://dsa.csupomona.edu/judicialaffairs. All students are expected to make themselves aware of and abide by these standards.
Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (The Buckley Amendment) All college students should be aware of this federal legislation as it deals with access to and privacy of college records, including grade reports. Cal Poly Pomona recognizes and acts in full compliance with the regulations set in accordance with the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act of 1974. Students may have access to all records maintained by the university about them, except those considered to be confidential under the act. Student records, such as grade reports, are available to students only. Students are encouraged to share this information with their family members. Any questions concerning this amendment may be directed to the Registrar's Office at (909) 869-3000.
