Commuting

As a commuter student, you may feel that before you can even think about your studies, you must figure out a way to deal with the challenges of commuting and locating parking on campus.  With commuter students representing the largest population of students at Cal Poly Pomona, there are a a variety of departments and services offered to assist you with your commuting needs.

Rideshare Program

Cal Poly Pomona's Rideshare program offers some alternative options for getting to campus.  For more information, visit http://www.dsa.csupomona.edu/parking/rideshare.asp or stop by the CLA Building where office staff can assist you in locating someone from your area to arrange a carpool.  As an added incentive, carpools receive the coveted close-in parking.

If you do not have a car and need to rely on the public transportation systems, the Rideshare office can provide you with maps, schedules, and general information about the lines/systems close to Cal Poly Pomona.

Parking
If you drive to campus, you have several options for parking.  For a campus map of student parking lots as well as the routes and times for the BroncoExpress shuttle, visit http://www.dsa.csupomona.edu/parking/students.asp.

Involvement
Get involved!  Fight the urge to get on the road right after class to beat the traffic.  Get involved in at least one club or organization on campus and become a part of Cal Poly Pomona's community.  Student involvement enhances your academic life and your entire Cal Poly Pomona experience.  With over 240 clubs and organizations on campus you're sure to find something that fits your needs and interests.  For more information, visit the Office of Student Life and Cultural Centers in the Plaza (bldg. 26) or on-line at http://www.dsa.csupomona.edu/osl/.

Study Areas
As a commuter student, you may find that you have some free time between classes - use this time wisely.  There are several areas on campus available for studying such as the University Library, Campus Center Marketplace, and the Bronco Student Center.  Don't limit yourself to these areas...explore!  You'll never know what is available unless you look around.
