REGISTRATION INSTRUCTIONS AND DEADLINES

Registration instructions and deadlines are printed in the Class Schedule that may be purchased at the Bronco Bookstore or accessed online the Registrar's Office home page at http://dsa.csupomona.edu/registrar.

Registration

All newly admitted and currently enrolled students are eligible to register for the upcoming quarter's classes during the two-week registration period.  After the close of registration, fee bills are available online. Deadlines for fees are published in the class schedule and on the Registrar's Office and University Financial Services Web sites. If fees are not paid by the published deadlines, students will be dropped from their classes to make seats available to other students seeking enrollment into classes.

Students register on-line using BroncoDirect, which streamlines access to key information such as grades, holds, the class schedule, personal information (including address, phone number, etc.); the University Catalog and financial aid.

After Registration

Fee bills are made available via BroncoDirect.  Students are required to pay fees by the deadline.  Students who fail to pay their fees on time will be dropped from all their classes to make seats available to others seeking to enroll.

STUDY LISTS
Each student who registers will have a study list of courses available via BroncoDirect.  Students are strongly encouraged to review their study list for accuracy and discuss all discrepancies immediately with the Registrar's Office.

Add/Drop Period

Add/Drop Period begins four working days prior to the first day of the quarter.  Students who have not already registered are required to pay a $25 late registration fee and a deposit at least equal to a 6-unit load before being permitted to enroll in classes.  Students may enroll for up to 20 units during the Add/Drop Period. The last day to add classes is the sixth day of the quarter.

To register during Add/Drop Period:

  • Clear Holds (e.g. Immunization Hold)
  • Pay cashier.
  • Add open classes (maximum 20 units) via BroncoDirect
  • For closed classes, obtain a Permission Number from the instructor.  Enter the Permission Number when prompted by BroncoDirect.
  • Drop classes via BroncoDirect

Adding a class

Classes may be added via BroncoDirect.  Preparatory math courses must be added at the Central Add/Drop Room at the Math Dept. If the class is closed, the faculty or department may issue a Permission Number to add an approved student into a closed class.

Closed Courses

The faculty or department may issue a Permission Number to the student so that he or she may add a closed class.  A Permission Number is a unique one time use number permitting enrollment into a class that is closed.  Students must enroll in classes by the sixth day of the quarter to be officially enrolled and receive credit for any course.

Dropping a class

Officially dropping classes is the student's responsibility. Students who fail to drop properly will receive "WU" or "F" grades.  Students may drop classes via BroncoDirect. No grade will be assigned for classes dropped before the sixth day of the quarter. Classes dropped on the sixth day of the quarter and later will be assigned a grade of "W".  Students may drop through the 15th day of the quarter.  Beginning the 16th day of the quarter, students must complete a Petition to Drop which must be approved by the instructor, major department chair and major college dean.

Required First Day Attendance

Students are required to attend the first class meeting or drop the class prior to the first day.  Students who miss the first class meeting or who arrive late may be administratively dropped from the class by the instructor. While instructors may administratively drop a student from a class, it is a student's responsibility to officially drop. (Students are cautioned never to depend on this faculty option, but to take responsibility for appropriately dropping the class.)

Instructor Initiated Drops/Administrative Action

An instructor may also administratively drop a student who does not meet prerequisite requirements for the course.  No grade is recorded for Administrative Drop and it must be filed by the instructor with the Registrar's Office by the deadline established.
