In accordance with section 21113 of the California Vehicle Code of 42200, Title 5 of California Administration Code, vehicles found to be parking in violation of campus parking regulations and/or the California Vehicle Code will be issued a Notice of Parking Violation by the California State Polytechnic University of Pomona.

Payment can be made:

  1. By mailing your payment to the address located on the citation.
  2. By paying the cashier at the CLA Building (Building 98).
  3. By paying online on the Parking & Transportation Services website.

Appeal Information

STEP ONE: Appeal Process (Administrative Review)

If you wish to contest a citation you must do so within 21 days from the date of issuance.

Forms can be obtained by serveral methods.

  1. By filling out our online appeal form.
  2. By coming down to Police and Parking Services (Building 109). View map.

STEP TWO: The Administrative Hearing

If you are not satisfied with the results of step 1, Administrative Review, you may pursue the matter by requesting an Administrative Hearing. You may request an Administrative Hearing in person or over the telephone. Your request for an Administrative Hearing must be accompanied by payment in full of the amount due for the citation. (Reference CVC 40215.b. for complete details).

A hearing examiner will review the information provided and your testimony. A decision is then rendered. In lieu of an in-person hearing, a Letter of Declaration may also be submitted five days prior to your court date. A hearing by written declaration will be accepted after full payment of the penalty is received. A hearing examiner shall review the written declaration and render a decision based on the information submitted.

The decision of the hearing examiner may be delivered by first class mail. If your citation is "dismissed", the penalty paid for the citation will be refunded in full. Refunds will be processed once the Parking Office receives the judge’s decision. Actual refund checks may take up to 2 weeks to a month to be issued.

Vehicles not displaying a valid Cal Poly Pomona parking permit and/or following the posted information are subject to a parking citation. A parking permit must be purchased before the issuing of a citation to be considered. Purchasing a parking decal the same day as cited does not qualify as a courtesy dismissal.  Decals must be purchased at least 24 hours prior. Failure to respond to 5 or more unpaid citations may result in the towing of your vehicle along with a DMV hold.

If you need further assistance please call (909) 869-3061 (8:00 AM - 5:00 PM; Mon - Fri).

ATTENTION:
Before appealing a citation, if you simply forget to hang your permit, go to Building 109 (Police & Parking Services) before the due-date. Please come in-person to verify identification and original citation.
