Purchasing Your Permit

Faculty and Staff Represented by Bargaining Units 1 – 9: Are eligible to purchase an annual Faculty/Staff parking permit. The fee for permit is $36 per quarter. Employees Faculty/Staff permits may park only in faculty/staff lots (A, C, J1, J2, R, S) or student surface parking lots with the exception of resident lots F1, P, and B.

Faculty and Staff Who Are Not Represented by Bargaining Units 1 – 9: Non-represented employees (e.g., MPP, confidential assistants, ASI, UAF and Foundation) and represented bargaining unit 11 Teaching Associates (2353 & 2354), must purchase a Faculty/Staff parking permit at $90 per quarter.

Faculty/Staff Permits Paid via Payroll Deduction: The monthly deduction is $12 for the Faculty/Staff members represented by bargaining units 1-9 and $30 for Faculty/Staff members not represented by bargaining units 1-9. To initiate payroll deduction, employees must pay three (3) months of the parking fee (determined by employment status) in advance.

Identification: To determine employment status and parking permit eligibility, a Cal Poly ID Card or employment verification must be available and presented at the time an employee purchases a permit. Faculty and staff permits must be displayed correctly at all times.

Faculty and staff may park in any faculty/staff or student parking lot.

All Faculty/Staff vehicles must display the Cal Poly Pomona hangtag.  Parking is enforced 24 hours per day, seven days a week.  Parking Permits are non-transferrable.

Blue Zones Reserved for Disabled Parking

Orange Zones Reserved for service vehicles only.
Green Zones Parking for limited, posted time
Yellow Zones Loading/Unloading of commercial vehicles and instructional materials by faculty/staff for a period not to exceed 15 minutes.

Display of Permit or Decal

Permit must be displayed at all times including during the quarter breaks.  Faculty and Staff permits are valid in student lots.  Parking decals must be displayed in one of two ways:

1.     Hangtags attached to the rear view mirror so as to be clearly visible from the front of the vehicle.

2.     Decals affixed to left rear bumper.

Daily Permits

must be displayed in one of two ways:

1.     Affixed to the inside left from windshield with date visible from outside.

2.     Placed on the driver's side of dash with date side facing up.

If using a car cover or motorcycle cover, provision must be made so that the parking permit is visible from the rear of the vehicle.  A plastic pocket may be placed on the cover into which the permit may be inserted.  Or, the permit may be affixed to the cover in any other manner.  Failure to have a permit visible may result in a parking citation.

Motorcycle Permits

Two wheel vehicles including mopeds or any motorized bicycles requiring a license by the State of California Department of Motor Vehicles are charged $9.00 per quarter for parking permits and required to park in designated motorcycle spaces.  Permit is to be displayed on the rear fender or on the front fork.  (Please note that parking rates are subject to change at any time with or without notice).

Forgot Your Permit?

In the event a permit has been forgotten, a temporary permit may be obtained by presenting Faculty/Staff or Bronco ID and proof of purchase of a parking permit to Parking and Transportation Services.  Carry your receipt for the parking permit with you while on campus or keep it accessible in your vehicle.

Lost or Stolen Permits

Permits that have been lost (which includes a permit left in a vehicle that was disposed of, misplaced, or stolen will be replaced by the University Cashier's Office.  Replacement is contingent upon establishing proof a permit was originally purchased and completing a Parking Permit Replacement Application.  Proof of purchase includes:  parking fee receipt, cancelled check, or name appearing on the application listing maintained by the University Cashier.  Parking permits are non-transferrable.  Display of an altered or stolen permit is subject to disciplinary action and parking citation.

Vendor Parking

Vendors servicing equipment on a regular basis may be issued a vendor parking permit by contacting Parking and Transportation Services.

Medical Parking

For the convenience of the medically disabled, medical parking permits may be obtained from Parking and Transportation Services.  A statement fro the Health Center or a personal physician, which must be specific as to the nature of illness/injury and the anticipated recovery date, is required.  Medical parking permits are valid only in designated medical parking spaces.  Medical permits must be renewed quarterly and proof of purchase of a valid parking permit must be shown in order to obtain a medical permit.

Disabled Parking

Parking spaces for the physically disabled have been established throughout the campus and are designated by the blue paint on the curb or edge of the paved portion of the street.  Such spaces are restricted to those vehicles bearing disabled license plates or placards.  Vehicles with disabled license plates may, when no disabled or medical space is available, park in green zones, but are not allowed to park at red curbs, or in any other illegal parking areas.  Vehicles illegally parked in disabled spaces are subject to tow away at owner's expense.

Accessible Parking Lots

PTS has added two new fully ADA Compliant Lots in the following locations, for the convenience of the Cal Poly campus community. The lots are on Camphor Lane; a large lot adjacent to the Campus Center and an additional second lot adjacent to the Music Building. These lots are accessible via the new Bronco Express Bus Circle on Camphor Lane. Directions to Camphor Lane maybe obtained at the University Information Booth or at the Disability Resource Center.
