Student Rideshare Procedures
Reason to carpool: Preferred parking spot & meet new students!
Students are required to have the following to participate in the Rideshare Program:
· Cal Poly Student ID to purchase your parking decal.
· Cal Poly student parking decal (obtained at the cashiers office)
· Rideshare Partner (s) who lives more than one mile from campus
Students who live in University Village DO NOT qualify. Parking & Transportation Services provides the BRONCO EXPRESS SHUTTLE for their convenience.
· If you don’t have a rideshare partner, please stop in the Rideshare Office to obtain a match list for your area.
· No Rideshare Sticker or registration is necessary for this program.
Student Rideshare Parking Policy
· Each day you rideshare, you will need to obtain a Student Rideshare pass at the Rideshare booth with your partner(s) in the car. Passes are issued 7am-3pm, and anyone with a CPP parking permit may park in Student Rideshare after 3pm.
· Show your CPP parking permit to booth attendant. Please pull down the permit from your mirror to assist the booth attendant so they can write down the number.
· You will receive a daily Student Rideshare pass, which is date and time stamped. This is your validation for parking in Student Rideshare. You must have this daily pass visible on your dashboard along with your CPP student parking permit on the mirror. If either one is missing, you may receive a parking ticket. Student Rideshare is located in Lots F8 and J.
· This is a daily process. If you are not ridesharing on a particular day, you do not have to stop at the booth, just park in regular student parking. Do not park in the Student Rideshare when not carpooling.
· If you disregard these procedures, or if you pick up unauthorized students within a one mile radius, you may be subject to a citation, student discipline, and dismissal from the Rideshare Program.
CAUTION:
- Make sure your daily Student Rideshare pass is visible on your dashboard.
- Do not give this pass to anyone.
- The Rideshare Office is not responsible for any parking tickets you receive while participating in the program.
In order to be considered for a one-per-quarter courtesy dismissal for a parking ticket, the owner of the decal and the owner of the vehicle must be the same. This does not apply to a citation received for violating the Student Rideshare Program.
If you have any further questions, please contact the Rideshare Office at 909-869-4781. You can also report any violators to the Rideshare Office. We can also provide a carpool matchlist of students in your area.
Thank you for participating in student carpooling!
