The Graduation Check Is The First Step Toward Candidacy
Undergraduate students are required to file a graduation check when they are within 10 courses or 40 units of completing their degree requirements. To do this, students must complete a Graduation Check Request Form. This form can be downloaded from the Forms & Services link of the Registrar's Office website. Requests from students who have not completed at least 140 units will not be processed. Units in progress are not included in this 140-unit requirement. Results of the graduation check are emailed to the student's CPP Email account typically within 90 days.
It is the student's responsibility to verify that all required contracts and/or petitions have been received by the Registrar's Office. By looking at the Cal Poly Pomona document imaging system, Registrar's Office front counter personnel (Building 98, 2nd floor) can assist students in determining whether a petition has been received.
To ensure timely graduation, questions regarding the accuracy or completeness of the evaluation need to be addressed immediately. Questions regarding general education, or university requirements, i.e., GPA, residency units, lower/upper division unit requirements, should be directed to the Evaluator. A complete list of evaluators can be found on the Registrar's Office website. Questions regarding major core and support course, or how to complete outstanding requirements should be directed to their Academic Advisor (in the major).
Graduate students are required to file for a graduation check the quarter prior to graduation. Graduate Contracts must be on file in the Registrar's Office. Results of the graduation check are emailed to the student's CPP email account typically within 90 days.
