Waitlisting Now Available in BroncoDirect!

Beginning Oct. 27, 2008, students can wait list for closed classes during the Winter Quarter registration period. With this new feature in BroncoDirect, students will no longer need to monitor seat availability in closed classes they want.

Basic facts about waitlisting:

  • Available for all scheduled class sections (except those requiring instructor approval)
  • Open during the registration period and the Add/Drop period
  • Replaces Open Seats as this service will no longer be needed
  • Fee bills are adjusted to reflect any additional enrollment acquired through wait listing

How it works:

  • Students will be given an option during the registration process to put their name on a wait list if the class they want is closed.
  • Students will be able to register and wait list for a maximum of 16 units during regular registration periods.
  • Students will be instantly notified if they were successful in adding their name to a wait list and will know how many students are ahead of them.
  • Once a seat in the closed class is open, the student first on the list will be placed in the class as long as the following conditions are met:

    - co-requisites, major or class level restrictions are met

- no time conflict between the desired class and another class in which the student is registered

- no enrollment in another section of the same course (except for courses in which multiple enrollments are permitted, example: Activity courses)

- prerequisites are met or are in-progress
  • Students moved from the wait list into the class will receive an email notification that they have been enrolled in the class.
  • Students may remove their names from the wait list any time while registration is going on.
