About Student Health Services (SHS)

Our Mission: "To provide prevention, education and healing services to enhance student success and learning."

Student Health Services (SHS), located at the top of University Drive in Bldg. 46, is a fully staffed ambulatory care facility, providing high quality and convenient basic medical and educational services at little or no cost to you as a student. We are funded primarily by a mandatory student health fee.Quality of care is demonstrated through continuous accreditation of Student Health Services by the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care (AAAHC).

Operating similarly to a family medical clinic, SHS places an emphasis on preventive medical and health education programs to help you stay healthy and fully productive in school. A wide range of services are offered to students, including early treatment of illnesses and injuries; diagnostic and preventive care; and health promotion programs/outreach services through the Wellness Center, located in the same building but accessible via the West Entrance off of our patient parking lot.

Most students use SHS by appointment, like you would your own doctor. Call the main number (909) 869-4000 for an appointment. You will be offered a selection of appointment days and times that best meet your schedule. Urgent Care is available for sudden or same day illnesses and injuries. Whenever possible, please call ahead to help minimize your delay.

Student Health Services is essential to the greater mission of Cal Poly Pomona. In recognition of Cal Poly Pomona's diverse student body, the SHS health team is committed to providing high quality, student-centered care and services, which are responsive to our students' changing needs. Through the presence and use of SHS services, students conserve and make more effective use of classroom and study time. Student expenditures related to health care are significantly reduced. SHS assists students in pursuing and achieving personal and academic goals in a safe and healthy campus learning environment.
