Graduation Writing Test
- What is it?
- The GWT is a writing test, which all Cal Poly Pomona students must pass to graduate.
- When is it done?
- When a student earns 90 - 120 quarter units (including transfer credit). Students who do not register for the GWT by the completion of 120 units will have a hold placed on their record.

Graduation Check
- What is it?
- The Registrar's Office performs a preliminary evaluation of a student's academic record to determine remaining requirements to earn a degree.
- When is it done?
- When 40 units or less of coursework remain (including units currently in progress) to complete a major's degree requirements.
- Grad checks will not be processed if the student has more than 40 units remaining.
- How do I submit a grad check?
- How long does it take?
- The Registrar's Office will email the results to the student's Cal Poly Pomona email address within 90 days.

Applying for Graduation
- When it is done?
- The quarter before or quarter of anticipated graduation.
- How do I apply?
- Students can apply online through BroncoDirect.
- $40 application fee.

Commencement
- Participation not required to graduate.
- Held every June.
- Students who graduate in earlier quarters of the academic year can participate.
