Request for Room Change

Winter 2009

ROOM CHANGE PROCEDURE

  • The online Room Change Request is for residents who wish to find another room/suite for Winter Quarter. If you know someone who wants to swap spaces with you, you do not need to complete the online form. You may go directly to the Housing Office on November 16th or 17th to complete this process. Both parties must go in to complete the process.
  • To request a room/suite change, the online request form will be made available on the StudentWeb on Monday, November 16, 2009 beginning at 7:00 a.m. The form will close on Wednesday, November 18, 2009 at 8:00 a.m. Link to Student Web.
  • Each request will be reviewed by the Housing Office in the order they are received (first come, first served).
  • Room changes will be approved based on the number and types of spaces available.
  • If your request is accepted, you will be contacted by the Housing Office with room change options. You will be required to come in to the Housing Office and complete a Room Change Form. You will receive a copy of this form to show your RA that you are approved for a move and to set up your appointment.
  • Once approved you must complete your room change on Friday, December 11, 2009 from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.
  • Please contact the Housing Office if you decide to cancel an approved room change.

CHECK-OUT AND CHECK-IN PROCEDURE

Once your request has been approved, you will be required to follow these steps:

  1. Contact an RA to set up an appointment to check-in to your new room and check-out of your current room. If you are changing buildings, you will need to locate an RA in the new building to receive keys and receive a new room inventory form.
  2. To avoid any delays or conflicts, we recommend that you contact the resident who currently resides in the space to which you are moving. Confirm when he/she plans to move out and coordinate the best time to move in based on this information.
  3. Check-In: The RA will give you a new inventory form for your new room. You will need to complete this inventory form in order to receive your keys.
  4. Check-Out: At the time of check out, the RA will complete the check-out portion of your inventory form and you will need to return your keys to the RA.
  5. If you have checked out a surge protector, please return it to University Housing Services within 5 business days to avoid any replacement fees.

If you will not be able to complete the switch during the time period specified, please contact your current hall coordinator and the coordinator for your new hall to see if there is an alternate time available. If none is available, your room change request may become void. If you need their phone numbers or are unable to contact them, please feel free to call the Housing Office at (909) 869-3307.
