Tree Walk
The Cal Poly Pomona Visitor & Information Centers
provides a tree walk for all campus visitors, students, faculty and
staff. Whether you are a tree lover, looking for landscaping ideas, or
just appreciate the aesthetics of nature's beauty, the Cal Poly Pomona
Tree Walk is a wonderful opportunity to enjoy one of Cal Poly Pomona's
unique features.
The Cal Poly Pomona Tree Walk has 50 trees that will
whisk you around the world such as the Deodor Cedar (Cedrus deodora
), a native to the Himalayas; the Australian Tea Tree (Leptospermum
laevigatum); the Japanese Black Pine (Pinus thunbergii); and
the Chinese Flame Tree (Koelreutaria bipinnata). Also, some of
California's very own accentuate the campus landscare such as the Coast
Live Oak (Quercus agrifolia); the Pepper Tree (Schinus molle);
and the Sycamore (Platanus racemosa).
The Visitor & Information Centers would like to give
special recognition to Levi Cox, who designed and published this tour.
The Cal Poly Pomona Tree Walk was a senior project by Mr. Cox, an
Ornamental Horticulture major here at Cal Poly Pomona, completed in the
Spring Quarter of 2005.
